About Me
'There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer'
I’m Alex and I’m an award-winning photographer, mental health awareness supporter, husband to an amazing wife, and father to a beautiful daughter currently based in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.
Growing up I spent all of my time completely immersed in all aspects of music, taking up the guitar and performing in several bands around the UK. I graduated from music college where I majored in guitar and music technology and began working as a sound designer in the video game industry.
I first picked up a camera as an alternative approach to managing my mental health after being diagnosed with clinical depression. It quickly became apparent the positive impact photography had on my life and I developed a real love of street, documentary and of course band photography.
I’ve been doing this for several years now but I still feel incredibly fortunate that I get to take photographs full time for a living, as well as share my photographic journey at events and photography conventions around the UK.
And when I’m not working or spending time with the family I’m either playing the guitar, watching cheesy action films or listening to very heavy music.
When it comes to equipment I am a huge fan of the Sony Alpha system and have been shooting solely with their cameras and lenses since 2018. The Sony Alpha cameras are fantastic and their size and performance suit my style and approach perfectly.
I am also honoured to have been given the opportunity to work with Sony UK as one of their Alpha Creators. This includes delivering talks, workshops and presentations for Sony at photographic events and conventions all over the UK about my approach to photography using the Alpha system.
As well as giving talks for Sony UK I have also spoken several times for The Photography Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
